Please download the Chapter survey, print it and bring it to the next Chapter meeting, drop it off at the shop (ask them to make sure Brian gets it), or email the form to Brain.
This survey is important as it will help the Chapter Officers plan rides, events, and other things that you the members would like to see and do. Without it you stand a chance of having to put up with whatever the officers can come up with.
WE NEED FRESH IDEAS!

NEW DATE FOR THE IRON BUTT RIDE IS AUGUST 2, 2008
Ladies and Gentlemen as long as the weather is fair and the roads are ridable we are planning an Iron Butt Ride Aug 2, 2008. Please note this is not a Chapter or HOG ride, this is a bunch of dummies with not much sense doing something stupid to show that our kids aren't the only ones without brains ;) So why are we doing it? Because we can.
In short we will ride 1500 miles in 36 hours. Actually we will be completing two rides at once. The SaddleSore 1000 ride is 1000 miles in 24 hours and then the ButtBurner 1500 in 36 hours.
There is a lot of documentation and record keeping involved, wittness statements, fees and more. To find out more CLICK RIGHT HERE
Right now the purposed route will be I44 West to Joplin, Hwy 71 South to Fort Smith, I40 West to just across the New Mexico border and then back again. This route may change depending on road conditions, weather, or just because.
If you are considering going on this ride be aware, this is a timed event, there is plenty of time to make this ride safely, but our stops will be short, meals not on the "real healthy side" and probably not any sitdown eating, it'll be kind of like fill the tank, run inside and use the restroom quick, grab a drink and burrito/hotdog and back on the bike, we're shooting for no more then ten minutes per stop. Sometime on the return trip we will have about a four hour stop (maybe more), could be a hotel or could be a rest area, this will be something all participants will have to agree on. I know I personally could not lay down on a bed and try to sleep during something like this.
We have not set a start time or start location yet, it depends who is going. Right now Terry Jones and I are planning the ride, if it is just us, we will leave from the Fort Wood area. If more people want to go, we will all decide on a central location but it will be on I44. As we are riding West, it will be a good idea to leave early enough so we are not doing a staredown with MR Sun before we reach the turn around point.
If you are considering joining us on this ride, let us know. This is a little button under this message call "Comment" click it and let us know (you must be logged in to the website to leave a comment. If we get anyone else wanting to ride, we can start a conversation in the Discussion Forums.
I started a thread in the Discussion Forums under Lets Ride |

Attention Missouri H.O.G. members! Please share the following
information with your chapter members.
Registration: Registration is open for the Missouri State H.O.G. Rally.
Registration is available online at www.mostatehogrally.com or the form
can be printed and mailed to MO State Rally, Inc., P.O. Box 1627,
Springfield, MO 65081. Be sure to register before June 15th to receive a
Rally Patch. All pre-registered members receive the Rally Pin and Rally
T-shirt. Only pins and T-shirts will be available for onsite member
registrations, quantities and sizes will be limited. Also, a minimum of
five prizes will be randomly awarded to pre-registered members.
Lodging: Once registered, you'll need a place to stay. Many of the
H.O.G. Chapters have blocks of rooms reserved at the Oasis Convention
Center, which is the site of the rally. It is important that these rooms
get secured on a credit card prior to August 1, 2008. Any rooms not
secured with a credit card by this date will be released for other
attendees. Staying at the site allows you to take full advantage of all
the activities.
Volunteers: This rally cannot be a success without the volunteers.
Please consider volunteering. Go to the website at
www.mostatehogrally.com and click on the Volunteer link. You must be
registered for the rally to volunteer.
Chapter Challenge: This year's state rally is changing the way the
Chapter Challenge is awarded. This year's chapter champ will be
presented to the Missouri H.O.G. Chapter with the highest percentage of
member pre-registrations from the chapter total as of September 1.
Prizes will still be awarded for individual events.
Watch the website for updates. We are looking forward to a great rally
that you won't want to miss!
